In line with its commercial strategy and with the aim of strengthening its participation in the African regional air cargo market, TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola doubled its regular cargo services, now offering two weekly frequencies to Lagos in Nigeria, Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo, and Johannesburg (JNB) in South Africa.

The airline said that it continues to capitalize on the freighter it has incorporated into its fleet, the B737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter) model, with capacity to transport up to 24 tons of cargo, accommodating up to 10 pallets in the 96×125 inch format. In terms of service levels, TAAG will now provide more than 100 tons of cargo capacity each week on the Luanda/Johannesburg/Luanda route and more than 45 tons on the Luanda-Lagos-Brazzaville-Luanda route.

The airline’s schedule of regular cargo flights on the Landa-Lagos-Brazzaville-Luanda route “now has two weekly frequencies, departing on Tuesdays and Thursdays.” The Luanda- Johannesburg-Luanda route will now also have two weekly frequencies, departing on Wednesdays and Saturdays, TAAG stated.

The cargo segment is a strategic market niche for TAAG and has boosted the promotion of the Luanda hub, and the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, Luanda is a reference in the region’s import and export channels, the airline stated.
