The First ICAO Global Air Cargo Summit will take place at the Kremlin Palace Hotel, Antalya, Türkiye, from 9 to 11 April 2025. With the theme, “Advancing the Sustainable Growth of Air Cargo,” the event would strengthen harmonized approach towards improving air cargo operations, regulation and economic benefits. Globally, air freight constitutes 35 per cent of world trade by value despite accounting for less than one per cent by volume, ICAO stated.
“The First ICAO Global Air Cargo Summit, with will bring together key stakeholders of air cargo services at various levels. The event will host a number of relevant and informative sessions and feature an exhibition showcasing a range of products and services to support the air cargo industry,” ICAO stated.
Sessions will address several issues related to air cargo, which include emerging issues in the development of air cargo, identifying ways of maximizing the benefits of air cargo to States and other stakeholders, as well as proposing pragmatic solutions and a roadmap on identified regulatory and operational challenges to the sustainable growth of air cargo services.
According to ICAO, the First ICAO Global Air Cargo Summit will provide a unique forum and opportunity for a collaborative approach to address these issues and provide a pragmatic roadmap to improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the air cargo operating environment. Having a collaborative and harmonized approach to ensure safety, security, facilitation, economic regulation of air cargo services and resolving any operational challenges and vulnerability in these domains, will define a practical, efficient and viable future for air cargo operations.
Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar, Secretary General of ICAO, has extended invitations to aviation professionals and stakeholders to attend this event which will gather a uniquely wide range of air cargo professionals, regulators, cutting-edge technology services providers as well as logistics and e-commerce service operators. According to ICAO, event registration is free for Member States, as well as international organizations as listed by ICAO.
